These are drawings that I've done over the last year that I thought you might like to see.
Noura the Fearless
This my grandniece. She climbs and talks and loves to swim. She's one.
Hold to the Iron Rod
How do we cope?
How do we know what to do?.
Fairy Friends
These are my fairies from Pixie Hollow. Little Coppertwinkle, Penelope Fancytoes, and their friend, Kelly Littlebutton.
My Dance
Years ago I did a drawing of a modern dancer to put in a card for a friend who teaches dance at MJC. This year, after I painted her set for a concert I decided to draw her a set of dancers that could be put in any order and still look like a dance. The hair is remenisant of my mom's in the 70's. I'd like to think that they'd be inspiring to all women, but really they're just funny.
Wide Eyed Little Girl
My son and his wife had a new baby this year, Kelly Athea. She's their 3rd and the only girl. She has the biggest eyes! She was born with the prettiest brown hair, which was a first in our family (all others have been bald).I can't wait to see if she turns out to look like my drawing.
Jeanette
This is my sister, Jeanette. She's asked me for years to do some kind of drawing of her. She is a world-class quilter and has these 2 cats, Betsy and Harold, who are her constant companions.
We Are United
For 2008, our Relief Society (Church women's organization) had this as their theme. They asked me to make a poster. I wanted to illustrate all the stages of a woman's life, from being young and enthusiastic about everything to the joys of motherhood and then that wonderful time when she has the time to be of service to others and reflect on the great joys of her life.
Jazz Greats
These are the flats I painted for that dance concert I was telling you about. The flats are about 15 feet tall and 6 feet wide. It took me about a week.
The Young Women
I love being a girl. And so I was thrilled when the president of our church's young women's organization asked if I would do an illustration for their Young Women's theme poster. I tried to illustrate all my feelings about being a girl-from the silly to the sad; the helpful, the serious, and the joyful.
